Today’s economic crisis is giving us an incredible opportunity to create a more human and enduring economic system. Recognizing that the steps being taken to address the crisis—including giving trillions of dollars in bailouts for Wall Street—do nothing to deal with the reality of a failed economic system, David Korten presents an alternative.
By changing our economic priorities, measures of success, marketplace rules, power structure, sources of financing, and even the very way we create money, we can build a new economy that generates real wealth.
Facilitator: Marcia Meyers, a member of the Economic Justice Action Group, UUs for a Just Economic Community and Real Wealth of Portland.
